Klondike: Our First Card Game Coded Entirely by AI for BGL
By Luc Barthelet · · 1 min read
As promised a few days ago, here's another card game on BGL: Klondike.
There will be plenty more — pretty much an endless stream from now on — and you're welcome to make your own.
I built FreeCell as a pattern for AI to follow in other solitaire games, and Klondike was the first fully AI-implemented game that worked without me looking at any code at all.
The next ones, which I'll share over the coming days, were built through the user MCP connection to BGL — which means any user can do it. It's as simple as typing "Build me a version of Klondike in BoardGameLab" into Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok.
(Fun fact: getting an MCP approved by Anthropic and OpenAI is more painful than releasing an app on the Apple or Microsoft store these days...)
Enjoy!
